Mold Remediation in a Coconut Grove Kitchen

This photo depicts a patch of mold after the contaminated wall cabinets had already been removed from the walls. The amount of moisture in this exterior wall was high because of poor seals around the wood framed structure. This wetness in the walls led to fungi also growing in the base cabinets and behind the tile backsplash. We started out with a demolition and discarded everything down to the stripped framing studs. We now could treat the remaining building materials with antimicrobial products to exterminate the remaining molds and most of the microscopic mold spores.
