Water Damage – South Miami Home
Water damage to this South Miami home was a result of a leak in an attic water line. The leaking water line caused water damage to the attic insulation, rafters, stored items, and the drywall ceiling. The before photo shows that some of the ceiling drywall panels had collapsed under the weight of the water absorbed. All of the saturated ceiling panels would need to be removed and disposed of properly. Some of the attic insulation would also need to be removed and replaced once the attic was dry. SERVPRO” of South Miami would assess the damage and create a plan of action for water damage restoration. That plan would include placing plastic sheeting on the ceiling to reduce the area to be dried by air movers and dehumidifiers. This method would allow for quicker drying and less expense to the homeowner. The drying process would be monitored with hi-tech moisture meters and infrared cameras.
